Santo Map Guide
Santo is the largest island of Vanuatu's eighty-three islands. Its main town is Luganville and there is also an airport nearby. In 2007, this was upgraded to receive international flights direct. This means that tourists no longer need to arrive via the capital of Port Vila. View a map of Efaté showing location of Port Vila. One of Vanuatu's finest beaches is found here. It is called Champagne Beach and is found on the eastern side of the island, north of Luganville. Santo is a popular destination for scuba diving due to the many important World War two vessels that sank here. There are also some very popular resorts, particularly on the small islands offshore from Luganville, including Bokissa and Aore. |
