Vanuatu Map Guide
Vanuatu is located in the south-west Pacific Ocean, east of the north-eastern tip of Queensland Australia. There are 83 islands in the archipelago, the main island being Efate. The capital Port Vila is located on Efate. Another international airport is found on the island of Espiritu Santo in the north - or Santo as it is commonly referred to. A small domestic airport is found on the island of Tanna in the south. The geographical features vary from island to island, but the country's volcanic origin is at the forefront. On Ambrym Island it is possible to view the glow of two active volcanoes - Mt Marum and Mt Benbow. This is a popular tourist attraction though it is quite remote and is usually accessed by a cruise vessel.
